Ron Rona

With a background in the arts as a performer, manager, filmmaker and producer, Ron has worked at Preservation Hall alongside Creative Director Ben Jaffe since 2006. Initially best known for his work as a player and producer of the critically acclaimed multimedia experiences The New Orleans Bingo! Show and The Bingo! Parlour, Mr. Rona continues to bring and broaden his experience in management,leadership, operations, strategy and creative energy to the Preservation Hall organization. Among his proudest moments and achievements are the happenings surrounding Preservation Hall’s Golden Anniversary year in 2011, including co-producing a star-studded 50 th Anniversary Concert and Celebration at Carnegie Hall, directing the stage adaptation of Tom Sancton’s memoir Song For My Fathers, curating the Preservation Hall at 50 exhibition at the Louisiana State Museum, working as Associate Producer on the Preservation Hall Jazz Band 50th Anniversary Collection (Sony Legacy), and bringing a show he made with his friends from the back of a chicken restaurant to the Kennedy Center. Named Managing Director of the Hall in 2013, Ron works closely with the Preservation Hall Foundation Team and its Board of Directors, and most importantly with today’s musicians in ensuring the future of New Orleans music through collaboration, education, creativity, and empowerment.
